Narațiune
Cred ca desenele mele aduc în prim plan un stadiu al unei transformări. Un instantaneu al unui proces mai îndelungat.

Categorie
Pentru că nu am putut găsi o categorie pentru desenele mele, am ajuns la o concluzie care poate părea exagerată. Că este nevoie de un gen nou. Scriu toate astea cu convingerea că fiecare dintre noi a desenat cel puțin odată distrat în timp ce vorbea la telefon, chiar dacă nu s-a gândit să expună o astfel de lucrare.
Because I couldn't find a category for my drawings, I came to a
conclusion that may seem exaggerated. That a new genre is needed. I
write all this with the conviction that each of us draw at least once
talking on the phone even if not all think to expose this kind of work.

Moduri
Cred că a te exprima competent în domeniul artelor, ca și în orice alt domeniu dealtfel, cere după caz, erudiție sau cunoaștere. Altminteri sunt note cu caracter personal ce au doar această calitate și nimic mai mult. Aici aș situa și articolele mele, unde nu competența e cea care le-ar putea face interesante, ci doar acel mod individual de a vedea lucrurile pe care orice comentator mai bun sau mai puțin bun îl are.
I believe that expressing with competence in arts, as in any other field, requires, as the case may be, erudition or knowledge. Otherwise, there are personal thoughts that have only this quality and nothing more. In this category, I would also find my articles, where it is not the competence that could make them interesting, but only that individual way of seeing things that any better or less good commentator has.

Imagine
Sunt convins că au fost efectuate destule studii despre ce am de gând să expun. Și poate că pasul firesc, înainte de a scrie un articol pe tema asta, ar fi cercetarea atentă asupra a ce s-a mai scris . Dar lumea e în mare grabă și chiar dacă preocuparea mea pe această temă și-a mai găsit expresia, sper să reușesc și eu să aduc unele nuanțe personale pe marginea subiectului.
Ideea de la care am pornit e destul de simplă.
Imaginea și-a schimbat semnificația astăzi . În urmă cu un timp nu exista fotografia, spre exemplu . Atunci evenimentele își găseau calea spre public prin pictură, sculptură ori desen și ceea ce ne impresiona cu adevărat era interpretarea naturii, îndelung studiată, a celor care se ocupau cu aceste lucruri .
Epoca modernă a venit cu un atac informațional prin intermediul materialului filmat ori al fotografiei, care a schimbat total modul de percepție asupra imaginii . Scopul acesteia pare că a devenit acum, aproape în exclusivitate, propaganda sau promovarea comercială . Astfel impactul emoțional al imaginii asupra publicului larg și-a schimbat și el sensurile . Nu mai înseamnă desfătare estetică, meditație filosofică ori religioasă. Estetica a devenit instrument politic, instrument al intereselor comerciale sau al aspirațiilor și obsesiilor unor grupuri de indivizi care își urmăresc obiectivele folosindu-se de ea ca de o unealtă oarecare. Aceasta a dus la devalorizarea imaginii prin abuzul făcut asupra ei .
Poate de aceea, o opera cu adevărat mare se va situa întotdeauna în afara îngrădirilor la care interese exterioare ei o supun în permanență . Chiar și în cazul fotografiei ori a filmului .
I'm convinced that enough studies have been done about what I'm going to expose. And maybe the natural step, before writing an article on this subject, would be careful research on what was written. But the world is in a hurry and even if my concern on the subject has found its expression, I hope to succeed in bringing some personal nuances to the subject.
The idea I started from is pretty simple.
The image has changed its meaning today. In the past, there was no photography, for example. Events came to the public through painting, sculpture or design, and what really impressed us was the interpretation of the long-studied nature of those who dealt with these things.
The modern age has come up with an informational attack through film or photo, which has completely changed the image perception. Its purpose seems to have become, almost exclusively, propaganda or commercial promotion. Thus, the emotional impact of the image on the general public has also changed its meaning. It does not mean aesthetic delight, philosophical or religious meditation. Aesthetics has become a political tool, an instrument of commercial interests or the aspirations and obsessions of groups of individuals who pursue their goals by using it as an instrument. This has led to the devaluation of the image by abuse.
Perhaps that is why a truly great work will always be outside the boundaries where external interests are always subject to it. Even in the case of photography or film.

Differences
Nu pot să cred că artele tradiționale sînt învechite pentru că nu
mai pot face concurență fotografiei. Sunt două genuri diferite. Ca și
cum ai spune că teatrul s-a învechit pentru că a apărut filmul. Fiecare
artă își are rostul ei. Îți trebuie măiestrie și ca să faci film și ca să faci teatru iar ambele se pot înscrie într-o tradiție. La fel și cu
fotografia și artele vizuale. Ambele se bazează pe studiu și experiență.
Și evident pe talent. Faptul că imaginea astăzi nu mai înseamnă ce
însemna acum două sau trei secole e iarăși adevărat. Dar asta ține în
permanență de cei care o reactualizează în fața publicului. Deci e cu
siguranță o prejudecată. Încă ceva. La fel de bine poți spune că de la apariția
filmului fotografia s-a învechit. O poți spune dar ar fi neadevărat.
I can not believe that traditional arts are obsolete because they can not compete with photography. There are two different genres. That as if you said the theater was getting old because the movie came out. Every art has its meaning. You need craftsmanship to make movies and make theater, and both can fit into a tradition. Same with photography and visual arts. Both are based on study and experience. And obviously on talent. The fact that the image today does not mean what it means two or three centuries ago is true again. But this is always kept by those who update it to the public. So it's definitely a bias. One more thing. You can also say that the photo has become obsolete since the film came out. You can say it, but it would be untrue.
